MBA? Why many women say no.
While women are increasingly attending graduate schools for law and medicine, they remain a minority in many top business schools. According to a recent study, women choose not to pursue an MBA because of barriers such as a lack of female role models and a perceived incompatibility of careers in business with work/life balance. As a result many business schools have created outreach programs specifically targeted to attract more women. Women's organizations have also set up forums giving women the opportunity to examine careers in business and getting them in contact with other women in the field.
