An agreement between McDonalds and its franchisees to offer workers an enhanced compensation program has been met with a co-funded multimillion dollar investment. The benefits will include higher wages, paid time off, tuition payments, and an emergency childcare program. With franchisees owning roughly 95% of McDonald’s locations, this plan was based on feedback from over 5,000 workers.
