McDonald's denies report of dropping health care
McDonald's is denying a report in the Wall Street Journal that says they are considering cutting health care for over 30,000 employees. The report was based on a memo that the company sent to federal officials, saying that its insurance plan will not meet a requirement for premiums next year. The company said that it has been trying to understand the new rules and regulations, but that it does not have plans to drop the health care plan. The report brought up fears that insurers would leave the market rather than comply with new regulations, giving consumers less of a choice. A Department of Health and Human Services spokesperson said that they are working with businesses to help them maintain health care coverage for their employees.
