McKenna to appeal union fee ruling to U.S. Supreme Court
The state of Washington will ask the U.S. Supreme Court to review a case that overturned a law forcing unions to ask permission from any non-member before spending that worker's bargaining fees on political causes. The Washington State Supreme Court, upon reviewing a suit brought against a teacher's union, found the existing provision to be an unconstitutional burden on the union's free speech.
