Mediators see no exit from Iraq face-off: A dispute beyond mediation
Mediators are questioning whether it was ever the intent of the Bush Administration to have meaningful negotiation with Saddam Hussein. Both sides would need to be willing to discuss options other than war to resolve the dispute peacefully. Neither side in this case appeared to have interest in seeking common ground.
