Experts point to the complications resulting from the 2001 merger of TWA and American Airlines, in which pilots are still tied up in litigation, as a warning for what can happen when pilots' status and experience are not accounted for in merger plans. Pilots are concerned experienced pilots could end up working small, more regional flights than there status deserves.
