Mexican Congress OKs biggest labor shake-up in decades
On Tuesday, the Mexican Senate approved a labor reform bill. Supporters of the bill say that it will help to increase competition and productivity, while opponents say that it takes away workers' rights. The bill includes changes that would shorten disputes and make hiring and firing easier. Proposed changes around union management were cut. The bill also changes the minimum wage to a daily rate and outlaws gender discrimination.
