Mexico GM workers oust their current union
A General Motors plant in Silao Mexico has held a fair union vote after the US government filed a complaint in May with the USMCA after alleged destruction of an earlier vote. These workers voted to end the collective bargaining agreement and sever their ties with the confederation of Mexican workers union. This union had been accused of intimidation tactics in earlier votes and now the question is what new union will work to organize these plant workers. GM said that production at this plant will continue with the current agreement until a new one is negotiated and approved by a majority vote.
