Michigan court sides with backers of pro-union initiative
A Michigan court has ruled that state officials have to put a voter initiative on the ballot that would put protections for collective bargaining in the state constitution. The initiative had been left off the ballot, despite having twice the number of signatures needed, because a state board said that organizers did not explain how the proposal would affect other parts of the constitution. The court ruled that organizers had told signers all they needed to know. Opponents of the measure said that htey would immideiately file an appeal to the Michigan Supreme Court.
