Michigan GOP approves right to work amid union protests
On Thursday, both the Michigan House and Senate passed right-to-work legislation, introduced that day. The Senate also passed similar legislation for most public sector unions. The votes drew hundreds of protesters to the capital, where some were pepper-sprayed by police. A final enactment of right-to-work could not take place until Tuesday due to procedural rules. The governor has said that he will sign the measures. Supporters of the bill say that they will improve the economy, while opponents see them as an attack on workers; rights.
