The Michigan Supreme Court has declined to rule on a dispute between Governor Rick Snyder and the teachers' union. The dispute is over changes to the state retirement system, which will lead to hire costs for current employees and retirees. A lower court issued a temporary restraining order stopping the law from going into effect. The Governor wanted the Supreme Court to waive the normal appeals process and hear the case. The Court said that the appeal of the restraining order should go through the normal process, and that the temporary restraining order remained in effect.
