Microsoft Criticized for Gay Rights Stance
Microsoft Corp., known for its progressive employment policies, has come under fire from activists for withdrawing support for a gay rights bill. The Washington state bill would have banned discrimination against homosexuals in housing, employment and insurance. Critics say that Microsoft decided to take a neutral stance on the bill after being threatened with a nationwide boycott by a local pastor.
