Microsoft Has Plans To Tie Executive Bonuses To Diversity Goals
Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella, announced the technology giant will now tie executives bonuses to the company’s diversity targets. The initiative follows a downwards trend of women in the organization. Microsoft’s workforce is now only 25% female, falling 1% since last year. The drop is likely from the company cutting its Nokia division, which laid off both female and minority groups. Nadella has made gender diversity a major part of his administration and is spearheading the initiative himself. Gender diversity is a growing trend in Silicon Valley, with Intel allocating $300 million towards its strategy last year.
