Middle-aged fear losing out under Social Security reform
President Bush's plan for creating personal retirement accounts, allowing workers to divert tax money from Social Security into individual accounts, has been best received by younger workers who have little confidence in the Social Security system. However, many middle-aged Americans feel that they would get relatively little benefit from the plan because they will not have enough time to build up these investment accounts. Bush insists that everyone will benefit from overhauling social security in the long-run.
