Minnesota meat processing factory fined for violating child labor laws
A meat processing factory in Minnesota has been charged with child labor violations after the United States Labor Department discovered two workers, ages 16 and 17, operating meat processing equipment. Child labor laws prevent child workers from working in dangerous environments and operating hazardous machinery. The Monogram Food Solutions company, the owner of the factory, has received fines for the violations, and the company has pledged to take steps to prevent future violations. Monogram Food Solutions was ordered to stop the shipment of any products that were created during the time the child workers were employed.
