Mo. Senate endorses workers' compensation changes
The Missouri Senate has given a workers' compensation bill their tentative approval. The bill would restrict employees from suing co-workers over workplace injuries, unless the coworker was deliberately negligent. The Senate says that the bill will clarify workers' compensation law and protect workers. The bill also explicitly states that occupational diseases are covered by the workers' compensation system, a measure designed to keep claims out of the courts. The Senate gave the bill verbal approval, and will vote on it again before it moves to the House.
