Molson Coors workers represented by Teamsters are on strike in Texas
Thousands of Molson Coors workers represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters union are on strike in Fort Worth, Texas. The strike action began last week Saturday, and workers will continue to strike until a contract agreement is reached. Molson Coors has experienced record levels of revenue this past year, and the company earned over $11 billion in revenue over the past year. Teamsters stated that Molson Coors offered union workers less than $1/hour wage increase, and claimed workers deserve greater salary increases that matched the increases in company revenue. Molson Coors stated that the company has contingency plans in place for if strike action occurs, and the plans will allow Molson Coors products to remain on shelves and consumers will still be able to purchase these products. Molson Coors is North America’s second-largest brewer behind Anheuser-Busch, and Teamsters announced that five thousand Anheuser-Busch workers will strike if an agreement is not reached before March 1st.
