Monthlong Faculty Strike Continues in Ontario
Faculty members in Ontario’s 24 public two-year colleges are continuing to strike after 86% of faculty union members have rejected the College Employer Council’s contract offer. The Ontario Public Service Employee’s Union said that 95% of eligible union members participated in the vote. The strike has been on strike since October 16. The contract included a 1.75% wage increase in the first year, followed by a 2% increase in the following three years.
