Nabisco factory workers go on strike
Starting August 10th, factory workers from Oregon, Colorado, Virginia, and Illinois went on strike against Nabisco. These workers say that while the company is doing well, they are being treated poorly and have been expected to make numerous concessions. The company has pressed for contract concessions such as eliminating the union pension contributions, allowing a two-tier healthcare system, and giving up overtime pay. All this coupled with the fact that the company has been shutting down factories and outsourcing jobs to Mexico, workers are “at the point where enough is enough.”
