National Museum of Scotland staff take strike action
Employees of the National Museum of Scotland have just begun a seven day strike over the proposal to cut weekend allowances for new staff. This strike comes in the midst of the final week of the Edinburgh Festival, one of Scotland's biggest annual events. Museum employees say that cutting the weekend allowance will reduce their annual salaries by two to three thousand euros. The employees previously went on a two day strike back in April of this year.
