Nebraska proposes free childcare for childcare workers bill
There is a widespread childcare worker shortage in the United States, and Nebraska is considering implementing a new bill that would provide childcare workers with free childcare services. Senators in Nebraska believe that the bill will incentivize more parents to seek childcare jobs. A similar bill was introduced in Kentucky a few years ago, and free childcare services in the state have increased the number of childcare workers by over three thousand. Other states have followed suit, and laws implementing free childcare policies for childcare workers have been passed in Iowa, Colorado, and Indiana. In Nebraska, some counties have no childcare services at all, while a majority of counties do not have enough childcare providers to meet demand.
