Negotiations between railroad companies and unions resume as workers demand better paid sick leave benefits
In September, the Biden administration got involved in labor discussions between railroad companies and unions in order to avoid a large strike that would've greatly impacted the nation's supply chains and economy. However, since then, two of the railroad unions have rejected the tentative agreement that was made. As a result, negotiations will resume again and there is a new potential for a strike to occur. The rail unions are seeking more paid sick leave days to be included in the labor contract as the pay increases that have been offered do not account for current high inflation.
