Netflix has reportedly issued a memo entitled “Netflix Culture - Seeking Excellence” to employees. In the memo, Netflix addresses disgruntled staffers by saying that they value the artistic expression of their content creators over employees’ personal beliefs and values. They wrote, “Depending on your role you may need to work on titles you perceive to be harmful. If you'd find it hard to support our content breadth, Netflix may not be the best place for you.” This memo comes after employee protests and staged walkouts over the airing of Dave Chappelle’s Netflix special that many perceived to be disrespectful to the trans community.
