New Jersey Lawmakers Mull Stronger Labor Protections for Cannabis Industry Workers
Lawmakers in New Jersey have advanced legislation that would significantly expand labor protections for cannabis industry workers. The bill, A4182, would guarantee union organizing rights, collective bargaining protections, and a ban on unfair labor practices for employees not covered by federal labor law. It would also grant unions greater access to cannabis workplaces, require employers to share employee contact information, and raise penalties for violations. The measure now heads to the state Senate, where its fate remains uncertain.
