New online program used for union voting as video game workers successfully organized at a company owned by Microsoft
On Tuesday, tech workers for the Microsoft-owned video game maker ZeniMax Media successfully unionized, joining the Communications Workers of America. Unlike the usual union election formats though, the company allowed workers to either sign union authorization cards or vote using an online platform. This made the process much more efficient. Furthermore, rather than adopt an anti-union campaign like some large companies have done recently in response to unionization efforts, Microsoft remained neutral throughout the campaign.
