This week, the Biden administration is expected to announce a new rule that will protect the rights of farmers and encourage competition in the agriculture sector. The new rule will ease a farmer’s burden of proof when taking a company to court for actions that harm industry competition. This rule is in addition to the U.S Department of Agriculture’s plan to tighten the guidelines for what it means for meat to be labeled as a “Product of USA.” This will exclude animals raised in other countries and only processed in the U.S. from the label.
