New study indicates broad consequences of Covid-19 illnesses on workforce participation
While the US labor force has recovered from the pandemic in terms of employment levels, a new study indicates that the current labor force would have been even larger had it not been for Covid. The study reveals that those who are sickened by Covid and take weeklong absences from work are less likely to be in the labor force the following year. The slow growth of the post-pandemic labor force demonstrates the broad health and economic consequences of Covid-19.
