Newspaper unions ratify 2-year contract
900 employees at the Detroit Free Press, Detroit News and Detroit Media Partnership have approved a new two-year contract. The contract includes wage cuts for both years and higher health care contributions for employees. The employees include newsroom employees, janitors, and printing and production operations. The companies said that the cuts were necessary due to Detroit's financial problems and their need for cuts.
