NFL stops the clock
After NFL owners quickly and unanimously rejected the players' union demand for 60 percent of revenues Thursday, both sides agreed to resume labor negotiations and delay the start of free agency 72 hours until late Sunday night. Although that would appear to signal an imminent breakthrough in extending the collective bargaining agreement, there were no immediate signs owners were willing to move higher than their 56 percent offer.
