NHL labor talks break down; Bettman disappointed by union's counteroffers
After the National Hockey League proposed a 50/50 split of revenue earlier this week, the P Players' Association put out three proposals which the league rebuffed. Both sides said that they were disappointed with the results of Thursday's bargaining session. The longer negotiations continue without agreement, the more likely it is that more games will be canceled. An agreement needs to be reached by October 25 in order for a full season to occur. Revenue sharing is one of the biggest issues on the table for the two sides. No new negotiations have been scheduled.
