NHL, union resume talks
The National Hockey League and the NHL Players' Association continued negotiations this week to end a lockout that has the potential to end the entire season. The NHL said that the Players' Association was working on a new offer, which would be the first in over three weeks. The Players' Association has also indicated that they want the League to make proposals around other issues besides pay. The regular season would have begun on October 11, and all games through October 24 have already been canceled.
