Nigerian Unions End Fuel-Price Strike
A four-day nationwide strike in Nigeria ended Saturday as government officials and union members reached an agreement over proposed fuel price hikes. The strike, which began last Wednesday, had effectively shut down Nigeria's economy and caused oil prices worldwide to spike sharply. On saturday, the government agreed to delay increasing fuel prices for one year at a reduced rate, in order to bring the unions back to work.
