Nigerian workers protest high inflation and living costs associated with newly elected president
Nigerian labor unions that represent various government workers held a rally to protest the increasing cost of living in the country, and the lack of resources provided to help Nigerians. Nigeria recently elected a new president, Bola Tinudu, and protestors state that he has been slow to implement the necessary economic reforms to ease hardships. The economic changes that the President has implemented have benefitted the government, but the policies also greatly increased inflation. High inflation is hurting Nigerian citizens, and rising costs have made transportation and food unaffordable for many workers. Due to the rallies, President Tinudu and other Nigerian lawmakers have met with union leaders to discuss potential solutions to these issues.
