NLRB files a complaint against Starbucks for retaliatory behavior
On Tuesday, a National Labor Relations Board regional director issued a complaint against Starbucks accusing the company of illegally interfering with workers’ rights to form a union. The filing alleges that the illegally surveilled workers, and retaliated against pro-union employees, suspending one and firing another at an Arizona store. The labor board says that Starbucks must remedy the situation by notifying employees around the country of their violation of labor law and make the fired employee “whole.” A Starbucks spokesperson denied these allegations and said “We've been consistent in denying any claims of anti-union activity. They are categorically false.”
