NLRB Hearing on Harvard's Student Unionization Vote Ends
The NLRB hearing at Harvard University reviewing the student unionization vote ended on Friday. The hearing discussed whether or not to count the 313 challenged ballots. Harvard officials argue that the challenged ballots should not be counted, while the HGSU-UAW think they should. Each party also filed objections about the vote, with the HGSU-UAW stating that the University did not provide a valid list of eligible voters, and the school's administration claiming that an NLRB employee mistakenly invalidated a ballot that had voted against student unionization. Representatives from the graduate student unionization effort and the University can submit post-hearing briefs until April 3. Only then can the NLRB rule on the dispute, including a possible decision to re-vote.
