NLRB to Consider Election Objections in Feb. 22 Hearing
An NLRB hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 22 to determine the next step for the Harvard graduate student's vote on unionization. The HGSU-UAW is pushing for a re-vote on the issue, claiming that the problems with the original vote were the fault of an inaccurate list of eligible voters that the university had compiled. Due to the resulting 314 contested ballots, the vote was too close to call. Those graduate students that oppose unionization argue that the defective list is not a "fair standard" for the NLRB to measure the legitimacy of the vote by.
