Unions in South Korea are angered by the announcement that Hyundai Motors plans to no longer pay employees based upon seniority. This change will directly contradict South Korea's culture, which strongly emphasizes the need to respect elders. If Hyundai can successfully implement a new wage system, it is likely that many other companies will follow in its path.
