No Quick End Seen to Strike at Goodyear
Over 12,000 employees at 16 Goodyear plants in the United States and Canada went on strike Thursday, after three fruitless months of negotiation between the tire manufacturer and the union representing the workers. The dispute, which stems primarily from proposed plant closings and pay cuts, has been exacerbated by reports that Goodyear?s top executives received large bonuses last year, despite five straight years of losses for the company.
