Northrup, Union Reach Tentative Shipyard Deal
Northrup Grumman Corp., the world?s largest military shipyard and United Steelworkers of America Local 8888, the largest local in the U. S., announced that they have reached a tentative agreement. The previous contract expired Sunday night. The contract includes a 15% increase in wages over the next four years, addition of Martin Luther King Jr.?s birthday as a paid holiday, lower first year insurance premiums and raises the company?s contribution for future premiums from 50% to 75%. Members are scheduled to vote on Wednesday.
