Norway oil workers strike, forcing rig shutdown
Some Norwegian oil rig workers have gone on strike, shutting down some rigs but having little effect on production. The strike could effect scheduled drilling and exploration. The strike comes before the deadline for a wage agreement between the unions and oil industry. Negotiations around a pension deal failed earlier this year. Both parties agreed that the strike would begin only after operations were shut down safely.
