Nurse’s Social Media Posts Protected Under Law, NLRB Judge Says
A federal labor judge ruled that a North Carolina hospital wrongly fired an employee after she posted on social media about workplace harassment. The judge found the posts, made off-duty and limited to friends, were legally protected under labor law. The hospital must reinstate the worker and provide back pay, as the termination was based on unsubstantiated concerns about threats to staff safety.
