NYC-area Starbucks workers seek union
Employees at Starbucks locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island filed a petition to form a union with the NLRB on Thursday. The workers wrote letters to Starbucks president and CEO Kevin Johnson pertaining to their struggles to make a living during the COVID-19 pandemic and work conditions, among other things. New York State lawmakers have also sent a letter to Johnson showing their support for unionization and urged the company to respect their workers’ rights to unionize.
