President Barack Obama signed a $787 billion economic stimulus bill yesterday. The package includes tax cuts, increases in unemployment benefits, as well as funding for state governments and new projects. Furthermore, the stimulus is expected to generate 3.5 million jobs. Many of those jobs will come from the funds allocated for infrastructure projects, including hundreds of thousands of construction jobs. The legislation includes money for alternative energy investments as well, which is also expected to create new jobs for Americans.
