Officials: Delphi Close on UAW Deal
Union officials at the United Auto Workers were told by the unions' leaders to get ready for a ratification vote within the "next couple of days," for an agreement with beleaguered auto parts manufacturer Delphi Corp. The company, which went bankrupt in 2005 and has alternated negotiations with requests for the bankruptcy courts to void its union contracts, needs to settle with unions in order to receive investments necessary to escape from Chapter 11.
