Olympic distractions cost employers
Captivate Network, a digital media company, has upped its estimate of productivity lost due to workers watching the Olympics on the clock from $650 million to $1.38 billion, as viewership of the 2012 London Games exceeds expectations. NBC has endeavored to make the Games viewable not just on television, but on computers and as many mobile devices are possible, leading to more people watching them while at work. Many companies are embracing the availability of the games, showing them on office televisions.
