On March 8, Women Will Go on Strike
Eight influential feminist activists and scholars, Linda Martín Alcoff, Cinzia Arruzza, Tithi Bhattacharya, Nancy Fraser, Barbara Ransby, Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, Rasmea Yousef Odeh, and Angela Davis, are the organizers behind "Day Without a Woman", a national strike that will be held on March 8. The strike aims to shed light on how corporate globalization has led to the decline of women's working conditions and social policies. Over 30 feminist groups worldwide will also hold strikes. The organizers are hoping strikers will march together, while also blocking roads and bridges, and abstaining from both domestic and sex work.
