Oregon hospital workers threaten to strike
Workers at medical network, Kaiser Permanente in Oregon, announced that they will walk off the job at 6 a.m. on November 5th if their current contract negotiations don’t improve. The company is proposing a two-tiered wage system to lower the pay scale for new employees which the union says will only exacerbate the current staffing crisis current workers are working through. The union threatens that the workers in Oregon as well as another 32,000 Kaiser workers in affiliated unions would join their strike.
