Organized Labor Unites to Endorse Kerry
The AFL-CIO, which is comprised of 64 unions representing more than 13 million U.S. workers, has decided to endorse Democratic front-runner John Kerry. This was a move to foster labor unity, and while no union opposed the endorsement of Kerry, a handful of union did abstain from voting. When Kerry accepted the endorsement, he talked of getting the economy back on track and restoring American jobs.
