OSHA fines candy company Mars Wrigley for unsafe workplace conditions and insufficient equipment safety training
Recently, the candy company Mars Wrigley was fined thousands of dollars by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) with regards to a workplace safety issue. Last year, two workers at one of its factories in Pennsylvania fell into a large tub of chocolate and had to be rescued by first responders. As a result, OSHA has found Mars Wrigley as connected to the accident due to insufficient safety training procedures for employees on its factory equipment. In response to this, the company has stated its commitment to the safety of its employees as a top priority going forward.
