OSHA Grants Workplace Violence Petition On Michaels’ Last Day
OSHA's director, David Michaels, has approved a petition that allows unions to pursue a rule that would require healthcare employers to adopt policies to prevent workplace violence. The workplace violence rule has been advocated for by the AFL-CIO and National Nurses United. The unions will now begin the regulatory process to get a workplace violence rule finalized, but it whether it will be adopted by the Trump Administration is unknown. Director Michaels is stepping down as director today after serving since 2009.
